I committed to getting a coach last week for myself.

I was listening to a special speaker a week ago and he said something that hit home.

“If your boss tell you to do something, you’ll do it”

“If the manager at the restaurant you work at tell you to show up at 6, you show up”

“If your coach or teacher tells you to do something you do it”

“But if you tell yourself to wake up at 5am, you negotiate and ignore yourself”

The most important person in our lives gets the least respect…….Us.

Is it fear of repercussions from our superiors or peers?

Why don’t we worry about disappointing ourselves?

If we put even half of the emphasis on respecting our own expectations as we do of others, most of us would be better off.

At a bare minimum our lives would be absent of at least one pain point that is self inflicted.

The person that causes me the most problems is me.

We tell ourselves that we’ll start something on the 1st of the month, then we don’t.

We tell ourselves that we are going to train 3x/week then we only get 2.

We tell ourselves that we are going to reign in our spending then we don’t.

We commit to cleaning up our nutrition only to binge next weekend.

How about we stop negotiating with ourselves and give our goals the respect they deserve?

Respect what you expect…

Your future self will thank you.
