​​The holiday season is often associated with indulgence, but it’s important to remember that maintaining a healthy diet is just as important during this time of year as any other. Here are three tips for eating healthy during the holidays.

Plan Ahead: One of the biggest challenges during the holiday season is the abundance of food options that are often high in calories, saturated fat, and added sugar. To avoid overindulging, plan ahead and make a conscious effort to choose healthier options. Before attending a holiday party or event, consider eating a small, healthy meal or snack beforehand. This can help prevent overeating and make it easier to resist unhealthy options.


Practice Moderation: While it’s important to enjoy the holiday season and all the delicious food that comes with it, it’s also important to practice moderation. This means being mindful of portion sizes and limiting your intake of foods that are high in calories, saturated fat, and added sugar. Try filling your plate with mostly vegetables, fruits, and lean protein, and limit your intake of desserts and other high-calorie treats.


Stay Active: Staying active during the holiday season is a great way to maintain a healthy diet and prevent weight gain. Even if you’re busy with holiday activities, try to make time for exercise or physical activity each day. This can be as simple as taking a walk after dinner or incorporating some strength training exercises into your daily routine.
